In the book that I am reading, The Bronze Bow. Daniel was a kid that was sold by his grandmother to a blacksmith called Amalek when he was very young. Daniel ran away because Amalek treated him like a slave and was the nastiest person to Daniel. He runs into the mountains hoping to find refuge being part of Rosh’s band, on his way he meets rich siblings named Joel and Malthace his sister.
Finally, he arrives at Rosh’s band and stays there for five years he in the mountains living with Rosh’s band, Rosh wanted to create a band to rebel and fight against the Romans. Daniel believed in the same things and hated the poor treatment shown to his kind. Daniel helped too with making metal tools and weapons because his mom and dad were killed by Romans, and he made an oath that he would do whatever he had to do to get the Romans out of Galilee Israel. His uncle was also crucified with his dad, that put Daniel through a lot of hardship and vengeance to fight the Romans.
Daniel is befriended by a slave that Rosh captured from a caravan that they attacked. Daniel calls him Samson, he follows him everywhere but he is a lot of help to him because he is really strong, powerful, and tall. Rosh doesn’t steal from the poor, he only steals from the rich only when he needs something. His beliefs are very strong and his men follow on the same path as Rosh because they believe what he believes.
When Simon, Daniels old friend goes to see and watch a preacher named Jesus, he wants to learn more about what he means. Simon goes after him hoping to understand it. Daniel needs a piece of metal for a dagger that broke but was Rosh’s favourite blade. Simon is an ironsmith. Simon is gone though, so Daniel has to follow him.
That trip helped Daniel in many ways that will not just solve the dagger problem but it will maybe change his mind about what he believes. When he is going after Simon he also has to watch Jesus’s preaching while looking for Simon because Simon might be there. Jesus believes and tells the people that despise the Romans, that you don’t have to fight them off physically until you get them out but that God will take care of the problem himself. Jesus also told them that patience will pay off in the end and that hasty acts like fighting when they get angry will not help.
Later when he finds Simon, I think that he will get the metal piece back and get a different personality and belief about his warlike thinking. In the end, I believe that he will not be part of Rosh’s band or he might try to convince Rosh and his group to be peaceful and let God take care of it. This is about Daniel’s journey to a becoming a different person. He learns many things on the way and takes it to heart. This is how he becomes who he is.
