Not long ago, there was a new idea about a device. It is like a lung, and is can transform water into a clean energy source for fuel. Its plan and idea was created by researchers at Stanford University. It is a device that is supposed to produce hydrogen fuel. It has a very unique design that is advanced, and could be able to be very effective and efficient. The unique design is like a lung; when air goes into a lung, it goes through a thin membrane and then is transferred into the bloodstream. This same idea put into the device, makes it highly efficient. This combines hydrogen with oxygen, and creates electricity. The only thing left over is water; this is why it is a good idea. The actual device is like a lung, or pouch that is like a plastic film. Small pores that cover the outside, are supposed to repel water. The inside is covered in nanoparticles of gold and platinum. In an experiment, they put the device in water and applied voltage. They created energy pretty efficiently. The team is now trying to scale it up to make it withstand higher temperatures for industrial purposes.
