Tom has studied and restored kelp forest ecosystems since 1998 and has dedicated thousands of hours fighting sources of pollution in Los Angeles, influencing policies and practices that benefit the environment and public health. As a former commercial fisherman, he has a deep appreciation for the working landscapes that our coastal waters comprise. Tom and his family live in Santa Monica where they spend their time surfing and exploring local beaches.
